About us
We are Joe Berry and Rachael Ellis the owners, managers and chalet hosts of Essentially Alpine. After the success of last season, we are pleased to announce that we will be back in Chalet Meleze this coming winter. We have a huge amount of experience in this industry and specialise in providing fantastic holidays, we always aim to exceed your holiday expectations!
Our life in the Alps started 8 years ago when we thought a winter season would be a good break before entering the 'real world' after finishing university. Little did we know how much we were going to love it - and have now had the opportunity to make this way of life our reality!
In 8 years we have gone full circle - we both started out as chalet hosts in
La
Tania and since then have held positions such as ski guide,
chalet manager, staff trainer, hotel manager, hotel chef, resort representative
and walking and wildlife guide in resorts such as Courchevel, Zermatt, Grindlewald,
Banff and the Aravis.
We have worked for a variety of companies ranging from the biggest in the industry to small luxury single chalet operations. Its been hard work but we've had a great time and have now come back to do what we love.
